I've Broke Down and Jumped on the Blogger Bandwagon...

I said I wasn't in to having a blog ... but here I am anyways!

Anyways, my day's events made it easy to write this first post.  If I had to give it a title, I think it might be "Mommy's Little Helper."  My dear daughter, who has just recently turned one, thinks that she should sneak into my office at the most opportune times (aka. when I'm not looking).  For those of you who have been to my Raising Miss Daisy website, you'll probably have no trouble believing that my office is full of projects on the go, customer orders ... and of course, yarn and embroidery thread galore.

I knew something was wrong when the house got too quiet this afternoon.  Every mom knows that's not a good sign.  As I began the 'grid search' in hopes of locating the little darling, I could suddenly hear squeals of delight.  Knowing those squeals were coming from the office, I could only imagine what I would find.  It was worse than I imagined.  Not only had she unraveled 10+ balls of yarn (which were conveniently wrapped around every inch of her), but she also managed to unravel a near-completed hat.  She needs some kind of speed award for what she accomplished in just a few opportune minutes.  Perfect!  But how could I be upset ... she had the biggest smile on her face and it looked like it was the highlight of her day!  My hubby convinced me that the lever door handles were a nice touch when we built the house ... but now I'm not so sure when I see my little sidekick maneuvering her way into a closed room.  I guess she'll keep us on our toes ;)

FYI: Amanda - I re-crocheted the hat and it's just about done ... again!

Lesson of the Day: Look for child-proof lever handle covers when I'm out and about!

  1. Oh no! I'm glad you caught her before she got into anything else! And I'm super excited to see my finished (and refinished) hat!
